*In response to the coronavirus pandemic, calculations for honor thresholds have been adjusted where indicated. On the other hand, because companies are so used to choosing only notes, they don`t know what to do now. I mean, for one thing, grades shouldn`t define you and I think it`s bs that an extra sentence in a 4-hour exam can tell the difference between an A and a B+. If the top 3 has pretty much the same GPA and eliminates possible rewards from the top 10%, companies are forced to choose based on other qualities rather than simple ratings. I think that`s good. The registrar`s email blames a new score curve that assigns 4.33 to A+ and allows for an additional P/F rate due to COVID. www.law.georgetown.edu/academics/academic-resources/registrar/academic-honors/academic-honors-academic-honors-cutoffs-for-2020-2021/ I would also like to point out that this new curve favors transfers that did not have to take 1L at the gulc under the old curve. All notes on the transcription of a transfer will be under the new curve. A 2L or 3L might have lower grades that pull down their entire GPA. You should probably separate the dean`s Cutoff at least by year, as a 3L has more old GPA ratings than a 2L. Do you think applying early/part-time action of excellent personal statement and work experience would give me a boost despite my low grade point average?
